The food here is horrible. It not only tasted awful but it was cold to make matters worse.

The food actually is pretty good, but never have I been scolded by a delivery person. I consistently tip generously and I really wish I could have revoked the tip this time around. Even after signing the paper, he was free to leave, but no, the delivery guy continued to scold me for not being home, even though I have a doorman. The delivery window says 40-55 minutes and I agree with other raters in saying that it take MUCH longer than that usually. He has to be a pretty pathetic guy.

Tamba has been my go-to Indian take out restaurant for the last 3 years. I am a big spicy food person and love their Chicken Vindaloo. Also recently tried the Dal Tadka last week which was also delicious and had a nice kick to it. The samosas are a must - and ask for extra green sauce that comes with it. My only comment is that while I'm a big fan of garlic naan, I find $4.95 way too expensive for any piece of bread so I usually opt for the regular naan. Sometimes delivery takes a little on the long side - around 45 min or so - but definitely worth the wait!

Best Indian Buffet in the area. I work in midtown and I've tried all the Indian places - this is the most flavorful. I had a weekend craving and decided to deliver this delicacy.

Dad to say, the quality of Banana Leaf has gone down, WAY down. Although the service is fast and the delivery people courteous, our last two orders were awful. Butter chicken, once a creamy, silky yummy delight is now still serviceable tandoori chicken breast, but in a greasy, separated sauce that is more like a bad tikka masala. The keema samoas were reconstituted from packaged frozen rather than the fresh tasty appetizers they used to be. To add insult to injury, they were overfried almost to the point of burnt. Sad, sad. I didn't write this review until we chalked one order up to a one off miss, but tonight's delivery confirms it.

The food is bad. For a Masala dosa, they forgot to give me the pototo curry filling. The dosa was sent in a tin foil wrap. The coconut chutney was stale. Sambar soup was alright. Aloo Tikki was unlike any aloo tikki i ever ate. Boild pototo, with no flavor. Stay away from the disappointment.

Very poor service. Promised delivery is 45 to 55 min but after almost2 hours it was still not delivered and I decided to cancel the order. When I called the restaurant, I was assured that the food would be delivered in 10 mins. After 30 minutes, still not delivered and the restaurant stopped answering their phone. Very unprofessional.

Very slow delivery. Only one set of utensils / plates. Curry is more sauce than meat or vegetables.

Perfect for splitting an entree with garlic naan

Based on the reviews for this place, I had much higher expectations. Portions were terribly small, food arrived cold (and late), and prices were not reasonable. For $40, I would expect that most NYC restaurants could adequately feed two people with some leftovers, which was not the case. Much better values for Indian restaurants elsewhere. Will not order from here again.

1+ hour to deliver!

Small porions, felt like left-overs. Goat curry looked like just few meatless bones floating in the sauce. Really overpriced. Took over an hour to deliver.

The food was excellent, but it took them about an hour and a half to show up. I called after an hour and was told they'd be here in 5 minutes. Apparently their watches are a bit slower than mine....

chicken korma was definitely not up to par, and the naan was dried out. i would not order again.

Banana Leaf is excellent!!!! Very flavorful classic Indian food, but without the oil and rich butter that most restaurants gratuitiously add
